At FirstBible, our desire is to help you become a minister of Scripture who is equipped with the necessary skills for faithful and effective Bible translation. The following outcome goals can be classified into three categories: academic, spiritual, and ministerial.
Academic Outcomes
At FirstBible School of Translation, it is our goal to prepare you to become a Bible translation leader:
- who is a skilled and faithful exegete of the Old and New Testament in their original languages and backgrounds;
- who possesses understanding and experience in implementing sound translation philosophy within the Bible translation context;
- who is capable of performing language documentation and linguistic analysis among people groups with unwritten languages;
- who is aware of the nuances of cross-cultural ministry gleaned from anthropological insights and on-field experience;
- and who is able to communicate effectively with people possessing varying levels of education within a variety of contexts.
Spiritual Outcomes
At FirstBible School of Translation, it is our goal to prepare you to become a Bible translation leader:
- who considers the provision of Scripture to the world to be a divine directive;
- who strives to cultivate an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ in his or her own life and in the lives of others;
- and who relies upon the leadership of the Holy Spirit for the translation of Scripture.
Ministerial Outcomes
At FirstBible School of Translation, it is our goal to prepare you to become a Bible translation leader:
- who accepts Bible translation as a responsibility of local churches;
- who desires to work within the context of team-ministry;
- and who views Bible translation as a means of perpetuating the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and integral to the establishment of His church within the target culture.
